Why Registration Is Not Required for Crypto Swaps
Most crypto exchanges ask you to create an account, verify your email, and submit identity documents before you can trade. But for crypto-to-crypto swaps, none of this is technically necessary.
Non-custodial exchanges like SyntheticSwap act as a routing layer between liquidity providers. Learn more about what no-KYC exchanges are and why they don't need your identity. They never hold your funds and therefore have no need to collect your personal information. The only information needed to complete a swap is a destination wallet address โ and that is all you provide.
This matters because it means no account that can be hacked, no email to phish, no identity documents to leak, and no trading history tied to your name. The swap is purely between your wallet and the destination wallet, routed through liquidity infrastructure, with nothing but a transaction ID to trace.
What You Need Before You Start
You need three things:
A wallet address for the coin you want to receive. This is the address where the output coin will be sent. It must be an address for the correct network โ sending ETH to a BTC address or USDT on the wrong network are common errors that result in permanent loss of funds.
The coin you want to send. This should already be in your personal wallet. If it is on a centralized exchange, withdraw it to your wallet first. This gives you full control over the send amount and avoids exchange withdrawal fees reducing the amount below the swap minimum.
The approximate amount. Know roughly how much you want to swap. The platform will show minimum and maximum limits; your amount must fall within these bounds.
You do NOT need: an account, a login, an email address, a phone number, a photo ID, or a selfie.
Step-by-Step: Swapping Crypto on SyntheticSwap
Step 1: Select Your Coins and Amount
Navigate to SyntheticSwap and select the coin you want to send (for example, BTC) and the coin you want to receive (for example, ETH). Enter the amount you plan to send. You will see an estimated output amount updating in real time as market rates change.
Step 2: Choose Your Rate Type
Floating rate gives you the best available market rate at the time your transaction is processed. The final amount may differ slightly from the estimate if prices move between quote and confirmation. This is the standard option for most swaps.
Fixed rate locks in the exact exchange rate and output amount shown right now. You must send your funds within the time window specified (usually 15 to 30 minutes) for the guarantee to apply. A small premium is included in the rate to compensate for rate risk.
For most everyday swaps, floating rate is the better economic choice. Read the full floating rate vs. fixed rate comparison for details. Use fixed rate when you need certainty about the exact output.
Step 3: Enter Your Receive Address
Enter the wallet address for the output coin. This is the most critical step. Blockchain transactions are irreversible โ an incorrect address means permanently lost funds.
Copy the address directly from your wallet application. After pasting, verify at least the first six and last six characters against the address shown in your wallet. If possible, verify the full address.
Also provide a refund address for the input coin. This is the address where your funds will be returned if the swap fails or cannot be completed.
Step 4: Review the Details
Before confirming, review:
- Input coin and amount
- Output coin and estimated amount
- Rate type (floating or fixed)
- Destination address
- Minimum and maximum limits
Everything correct? Click Confirm.
Step 5: Send Your Funds to the Deposit Address
After confirming, you will see a unique deposit address for your swap. This address is generated specifically for this transaction and is single-use.
Send the exact amount specified to this deposit address from your personal wallet. Important notes:
Do not send a different amount than specified. Amounts outside the minimum-maximum range may be rejected and require a refund process.
Do not reuse deposit addresses. Each swap generates a new one. Old deposit addresses are not monitored after the swap expires.
Send promptly if using a fixed rate โ the rate window is time-limited.
Verify you are sending on the correct network. If you are sending USDT, confirm which network the deposit address is on (Ethereum, Tron, Solana, etc.) and send from the same network.
Step 6: Wait for Confirmation and Receive Your Funds
Once the network confirms your deposit, the swap executes and the output coin is sent directly to the address you provided. Confirmation times depend on the blockchain:
Bitcoin: typically 10 minutes to 1 hour per confirmation (most swaps require 1 confirmation)
Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens: typically 30 seconds to 5 minutes
Tron and BEP-20 tokens: typically under 30 seconds
You can monitor the swap status using the transaction ID provided at creation. No login required to check status.
Tips for a Smooth Swap
Verify addresses twice. A moment spent double-checking prevents permanent loss.
Account for network fees. The sending network charges a fee that may reduce the amount arriving at the deposit address. Ensure the net amount after fees meets the minimum. On the receiving side, network fees are deducted from the output.
Use fresh wallet addresses where possible. Receiving to an address you haven't used before improves privacy.
Save your transaction ID. This is your reference for tracking status and contacting support if needed. Without it, tracking the swap is much harder.
Be careful with wrapped tokens and bridged assets. Coins like WBTC, WETH, or bridged USDC are not the same as their native counterparts on other chains. Confirm you are swapping what you think you are swapping.
Conclusion
Swapping crypto without registration is fast, private, and completely non-custodial. You need no account and share no personal information. With a wallet address and some crypto to send, you can complete a swap in minutes โ anonymous, direct, and fully under your control from start to finish.
