About Across Protocol
Across Protocol (ACX) is a capital-efficient cross-chain bridge using an intent-based architecture. Users specify what they want (e.g., 'I want 100 USDC on Arbitrum'), and Relayers compete to fulfill this intent immediately from their own capital. The relayers are later reimbursed from Across's HubPool on Ethereum. UMA's optimistic oracle verifies settlements, preventing fraud. This model is significantly more capital-efficient than AMM-based bridges because relayers' capital turns over multiple times per day. ACX was airdropped in 2022 to early bridge users.
