About Beam

Beam (BEAM) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency implementing the MimbleWimble protocol. In MimbleWimble, there are no addresses — transactions are constructed interactively between sender and receiver, with all amounts hidden using Pedersen commitments and all spent outputs removed from the blockchain. This makes the blockchain compact and untraceable. Beam was the first production MimbleWimble implementation (alongside Grin), launching in January 2019. Unlike Monero or Zcash, MimbleWimble's cut-through property means the blockchain is much smaller, scaling well over time.

How to Swap BEAM

Exchanging Beam (BEAM) on SyntheticSwap requires no account creation or identity documents. Open SyntheticSwap, choose BEAM as your source or target coin, provide your destination wallet address, and review the floating rate displayed. After sending BEAM from your personal wallet to the deposit address, the swap processes automatically and your chosen asset is delivered directly to your wallet. SyntheticSwap never holds your funds at any point during the process.

How to Store BEAM

BEAM requires the official Beam Wallet (desktop or mobile). Unlike Ethereum tokens, Beam addresses work differently — transactions are interactive and require both parties' wallet software.
