About Geist Finance
Geist Finance is a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol on Fantom Opera, forked from Aave v2 with added vote-locked tokenomics. Users deposit assets (FTM, ETH, BTC, stablecoins) to earn interest and borrow against their collateral at competitive rates enabled by Fantom's high speed and low fees. GEIST token holders can lock tokens for 3 months to receive Locked GEIST (lGEIST), earning a share of protocol fees in FTM and boosted yields across all deposited positions. The locking mechanism reduces circulating supply and rewards long-term stakeholders. Geist rapidly became one of Fantom DeFi's largest protocols by TVL after launch, capitalizing on Fantom's DeFi boom in late 2021.
