Hermez Network was an open-source ZK-Rollup on Ethereum focused on efficient token transfers and payments. Using zero-knowledge proofs, it could process thousands of transactions per second at minimal cost. Hermez was acquired by Polygon in 2021 for $250M and became the foundation of Polygon zkEVM.
