Iron Fish is a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain where every transaction is fully shielded by default using zk-SNARKs (zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge). Unlike Zcash where users must opt into shielded transactions, Iron Fish makes all transactions private by default, ensuring no metadata leakage about sender, receiver, or amount. Iron Fish uses a Sapling-inspired protocol similar to Zcash but applies it universally. The network supports multi-asset transactions, allowing various tokens to exist within Iron Fish's privacy ecosystem. IRON is the native token used for gas fees and miner rewards.
