About Moonbeam

Moonbeam (GLMR) is a fully Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot. Built by PureStake and founded by Derek Yoo, Moonbeam allows Ethereum dApps to deploy on Polkadot with minimal code changes, using the same Solidity/Vyper contracts, MetaMask wallet, and development tools (Hardhat, Remix, Truffle). This compatibility makes Moonbeam the primary bridge for Ethereum developers entering the Polkadot ecosystem. Moonbeam's cross-chain capabilities via XCM (Cross-Consensus Messaging) allow it to interact with other Polkadot parachains, enabling unique cross-chain dApp designs. GLMR is the native gas and governance token.

How to Swap GLMR

Swapping Moonbeam (GLMR) on SyntheticSwap requires no registration or KYC. GLMR is a Polkadot ecosystem token, supported by Polkadot.js extension, Talisman, SubWallet, and Ledger. Open SyntheticSwap, select GLMR as your source or destination asset, provide your receiving wallet address, and confirm the floating rate. After sending GLMR to the deposit address, the destination asset is automatically delivered to your wallet once the transaction is confirmed.

How to Store GLMR

GLMR uses Ethereum address format and can be stored in MetaMask (add Moonbeam network), Ledger, Trust Wallet, or any EVM wallet. The Moonbeam network RPC can be added to MetaMask via chainlist.org. For staking GLMR and participating in governance, visit apps.moonbeam.network.
