About PIVX
PIVX (Private Instant Verified Transaction) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that combines optional transaction shielding with proof-of-stake consensus. Unlike Monero or Zcash which are privacy-by-default, PIVX allows both transparent and shielded transactions, giving users flexibility. PIVX uses a custom implementation of the Sapling zk-SNARK circuit for its shielded transactions. The PoS consensus means all PIVX holders can stake to earn rewards passively without mining hardware. Masternodes (requiring 10,000 PIVX collateral) provide enhanced network services and earn higher rewards.
