About Qtum
Qtum is a blockchain platform that combines Bitcoin's UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) model with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) to create a PoS blockchain supporting smart contracts. Founded by Patrick Dai in 2016 and launched in 2017, Qtum bridges the reliability and security of Bitcoin's accounting model with Ethereum's programmability. Qtum's Mutualized Proof of Stake (MPoS) consensus mechanism distributes block rewards among multiple stakers to prevent centralization. Qtum supports Solidity smart contracts and is particularly popular in China and Asia as an enterprise blockchain platform.

How to Swap QTUM
Exchanging Qtum (QTUM) on SyntheticSwap requires no account creation or identity documents. Open SyntheticSwap, choose QTUM as your source or target coin, provide your destination wallet address, and review the floating rate displayed. After sending QTUM from your personal wallet to the deposit address, the swap processes automatically and your chosen asset is delivered directly to your wallet. SyntheticSwap never holds your funds at any point during the process.
How to Store QTUM
QTUM is stored in wallets supporting the Qtum blockchain. The official Qtum Core Wallet (full node) provides staking. Qtum Electrum is a lightweight desktop option. Mobile wallets include Qtum's official mobile app. Hardware wallets Ledger and Trezor support QTUM natively.
