About Serum
Serum was a decentralized exchange protocol on Solana built by the FTX team that used a central limit order book (CLOB) — rare in DeFi, which typically uses AMMs. Serum's on-chain order book allowed other Solana DEXes like Raydium to plug in and access shared liquidity. SRM was the utility and governance token, with MSRM (mega SRM) providing reduced fees for high-volume traders. Following the collapse of FTX in November 2022, the community forked Serum into OpenBook, as the original Serum admin keys were compromised. SRM and Serum effectively became legacy tokens after the FTX collapse.

How to Swap SRM
Exchanging Serum (SRM) on SyntheticSwap is fast and requires no registration or identity documents. As a Solana ecosystem token, SRM works seamlessly with Phantom, Solflare, and Glow wallets. In SyntheticSwap, choose SRM as your swap source or target, provide your destination wallet address, and review the exchange rate. Solana's high throughput means confirmations typically arrive within a few seconds — your destination asset is delivered to your wallet promptly after deposit. No KYC, no accounts, no delays.
How to Store SRM
Store SRM in Phantom, Solflare, or any SPL-compatible Solana wallet. Note that Serum Protocol has been superseded by OpenBook following the FTX collapse.
