About Siacoin
Siacoin (SC) is the native token of Sia, one of the first decentralized storage networks. Sia uses storage contracts on its own blockchain where hosts and renters negotiate storage terms enforced by smart contracts. Files are encrypted, split, and distributed across hosts. SC is used to pay hosts for storage and bandwidth, and hosts must lock SC as collateral to guarantee service. Sia also has Siafunds (SF) which represent a revenue share from all storage contract payouts.
