About Hedera

Hedera is an enterprise-focused distributed ledger platform that uses a patented Hashgraph consensus algorithm instead of a traditional blockchain. It was founded by Dr. Leemon Baird and Mance Harmon and is governed by a council of global corporations including Google, IBM, Boeing, and Deutsche Telekom. Hedera offers extremely fast transaction finality, low fees, and energy efficiency, positioning itself as the infrastructure layer for enterprise-grade Web3 applications.

Before you swap HBAR: what to check

  • •Receiving address format: 0.0.xxxxxx account ID plus a memo if the receiving service shows one. Custodial services may show a Memo — enter it in the form; self-custody wallets don't need one.
  • •Network: Hedera. HBAR exists on one network here; make sure your wallet sends on it.
  • •Deposit confirmations: 15 on Hedera (block time ~3-5 seconds). The rate is locked when the deposit confirms, not when you broadcast.
  • •Limits: minimum and maximum are shown in the form for each pair and change with fees and liquidity.
  • •Tracking: the status page shows each stage; deposits and payouts can be checked on hashscan.io.

How to swap HBAR

  1. In the form above, choose the direction: HBAR to the coin you want, or the other way round.
  2. Enter the amount — the estimated amount you receive updates live; minimums are shown in the form.
  3. Paste the receiving address (and the Memo when your wallet requires one) and, optionally, a refund address.
  4. Click “Swap now” and send exactly the shown amount to the deposit address from any wallet you control.
  5. After 15 confirmations the payout is sent; track it on the status page. No account, no KYC.

How to store HBAR

Hedera HBAR is stored in wallets compatible with the Hedera network. HashPack is the most popular Hedera wallet with an intuitive interface for managing HBAR and Hedera tokens. Blade Wallet and Yamgo are other solid options. Ledger hardware wallets support HBAR through their Hedera app, providing cold storage security for larger holdings.

If something looks wrong

The deposit is not showing up
Check the transaction in your wallet or on hashscan.io: it must be on Hedera and carry the Memo shown with the deposit address. Until it has 15 confirmations the status page shows it as pending — this is normal.
I sent a different amount than quoted
Amounts inside the limits are recalculated at the current floating rate. Amounts below the minimum cannot be processed and are returned to the refund address you gave (minus the network fee).
I sent on the wrong network
Funds sent on a network other than Hedera do not reach the deposit address automatically. Contact support with the transaction hash and the swap ID from the status page.
The payout has not arrived
Once the deposit is confirmed, the payout is broadcast within minutes. Check the destination address on its explorer; if the receiving service needs a memo or tag that was not provided, ask them to credit it manually with the transaction hash.
The rate changed while I waited
Rates are floating and locked at deposit confirmation. Slow confirmation (low fee, congested network) is the usual reason for a difference from the first estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Technically, Hedera uses Hashgraph — a directed acyclic graph (DAG) based distributed ledger — rather than a traditional blockchain. It achieves faster finality and better throughput.
