About Karura
Karura is the canary network of Acala and serves as the DeFi hub of the Kusama ecosystem. As a Kusama parachain, Karura offers a suite of financial primitives including a decentralized exchange (KaruraSwap), a stablecoin (kUSD), liquid staking (LKSM), and a lending protocol. KAR is the native utility token used for governance, transaction fees, and incentivizing liquidity. Karura acts as an experimental proving ground for Acala, allowing new features to be tested in a real economic environment before deployment on Polkadot.
