About Livepeer
Livepeer is a decentralized video transcoding network that enables live and on-demand streaming by pooling GPU resources from network participants. Video transcoding — converting raw video into formats viewable on all devices — is computationally expensive and a major cost center for streaming platforms. Livepeer reduces these costs by up to 50x compared to centralized cloud providers by creating a marketplace where GPU owners (Orchestrators) compete to transcode video. LPT token holders delegate stake to Orchestrators who earn ETH fees from video developers.
