About Gearbox Protocol
Gearbox Protocol (GEAR) enables composable leverage in DeFi through credit accounts — undercollateralized positions that can use borrowed funds across whitelisted DeFi protocols. Users open a credit account with 10-25% of position value (4-10x leverage), borrowing the rest from Gearbox passive lenders. The credit account can interact with Curve, Uniswap, Aave, Yearn, and other protocols — enabling leveraged yield farming, leveraged trading, and complex strategies. All positions are transparent on-chain and auto-liquidated if health falls too low. GEAR is the governance token for Gearbox DAO.

How to Swap GEAR
Swapping Gearbox Protocol (GEAR) on SyntheticSwap is quick and requires no account or KYC. Since GEAR is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, any Ethereum-compatible wallet works — MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Rainbow, or Ledger Live. Open SyntheticSwap, select GEAR as your source or destination asset, enter your receiving wallet address, and review the floating exchange rate. Once you send GEAR to the deposit address provided, the destination asset is delivered directly to your wallet. The process is fully non-custodial — SyntheticSwap never holds your tokens at any point.
How to Store GEAR
GEAR (ERC-20) is stored in MetaMask, Ledger, or any Ethereum wallet. GEAR governance uses Snapshot and on-chain voting through Gearbox DAO's portal.
